 introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on 
   Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and 
 Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in 
   each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the 
                jurisdiction of the committee concerned

     To amend title XI of the Social Security Act to equalize the 
negotiation period between small-molecule and biologic candidates under 
                  the Drug Price Negotiation Program.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. EQUALIZING THE NEGOTIATION PERIOD BETWEEN SMALL-MOLECULE AND 
              BIOLOGIC CANDIDATES UNDER THE DRUG PRICE NEGOTIATION 
              PROGRAM.

    (a) In General.--Section 1192(e)(1)(A)(ii) of the Social Security 
Act (42 U.S.C. 1320f-1(e)(1)(A)(ii)) is amended by striking ``7 years'' 
and inserting ``11 years''.
    (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall 
take effect as if included in the enactment of Public Law 117-169.
