   To permit nurse practitioners and physician assistants to furnish 
 necessary services, appliances, and supplies to individuals receiving 
                    medical benefits for illnesses.

    Mr. Hickenlooper (for himself, Mrs. Blackburn, and Mrs. Murray) 
introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the 
          Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions

                                 A BILL

 
   To permit nurse practitioners and physician assistants to furnish 
 necessary services, appliances, and supplies to individuals receiving 
                    medical benefits for illnesses.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Health Care for Energy Workers Act 
of 2025''.

SEC. 2. EXPANSION OF AUTHORITY TO FURNISH MEDICAL BENEFITS.

    Section 3629 of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness 
Compensation Program Act of 2000 (42 U.S.C. 7384t) is amended--
            (1) by redesignating subsections (c) through (f) as 
        subsections (d) through (g), respectively; and
            (2) by inserting after subsection (b) the following new 
        subsection (c):
    ``(c) Orders by Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.--For 
purposes of subsections (a) and (b), a nurse practitioner or physician 
assistant, acting within the scope of their practice under State law 
and in accordance with such regulations and instructions as the 
President deems necessary, may prescribe, recommend, or order services, 
appliances, and supplies for an individual receiving medical benefits 
under this section for an illness.''.
                                 <all>
