Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the life and legacy of Ronald W. Surin, II. I include in the Record the following Proclamation honoring his life and legacy: Whereas, Ronald W. Surin, II, born on April 2, 2003, in Pembroke Pines, Florida, was a bright light to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The beloved son of Ronald and Shebella Surin, Ronald lived a life marked by faith, determination, love, and kindness far beyond his 22 years; and Whereas, Ronald's spiritual journey began at a young age, culminating in his baptism on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, shortly after being diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Despite life's challenges, he faced each day with courage, grace, and an unwavering faith in God; and Whereas, a proud graduate of Pines Carter High School and a senior at Florida International University, Ronald pursued his passion for Sports Management and Physical Therapy with the dream of one day following in his father's footsteps and attending law school. He also demonstrated his commitment to responsibility and service through his work with Target Corporation; and Whereas, known for his calm, cool, and collected demeanor, Ronald touched countless lives with his infectious smile, his warm and loving spirit, and his genuine, friendly nature. An exceptional athlete, Ronald excelled in football, basketball, and track and field, and was especially known for his speed on the track. His dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship inspired all who knew him; and Whereas, Ronald was deeply loved by his family, friends, classmates, co-workers, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will never be forgotten. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Shebella and Ronald; his siblings, Shenelle, Wellington, and Ronalda; his grandmothers, Ella and Otelia; his great-grandmother Fannie; his girlfriend Sara; his aunts Miriam, Nanotte, Kechnide, and Naucie; and a large extended family of cousins, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as the many families he was connected to, including the Sarin, Poitier, Antoine, Cave, Jean-Pierre, Coachman, Sean-Mary, Gilles, Darbouze, Jackson, Lee, and Beavers families; and therefore, be it Proclaimed That we, the 20th Congressional District of Florida, do hereby honor and celebrate the life of Ronald W. Surin, II. His legacy of faith, kindness, resilience, and joy will continue to uplift and inspire those who knew him. May his memory forever serve as a beacon of hope, strength, and love within our community and beyond. ____________________
