Evans Votes to Crack Down on Illegal Immigration</span> <span><span>Delanie.Bomar@…</span></span> <span><time datetime="2025-01-07T15:40:55-05:00" title="Tuesday, January 7, 2025 - 15:40">Tue, 01/07/2025 - 15:40</time> </span> <div class="evo-press-release__body"><p><span>WASHINGTON – Today Congressman Gabe Evans voted to prioritize arresting illegal immigrants who commit crimes by supporting the </span><a href="https://collins.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-mike-collins-reintroduces-laken-riley-act" target="_blank"><span><u>Laken Riley Act.</u></span></a></p><p><span><strong>“As the grandson of an immigrant and a former police officer, I support efforts to prioritize deporting gangsters, not grandmas.&nbsp;Nationally, the first step in addressing our broken immigration system is helping local law enforcement crush the gangs and career criminals terrorizing our communities.</strong></span></p><p><span><strong>However, the sad reality is Colorado law prohibits law enforcement from honoring an ICE detainer.
