<span>April McClain Delaney Sworn Into Congress, Pledging Common-Sense, Common-Ground Leadership for Maryland’s 6th District</span> <span><span>Sasha.galbreat…</span></span> <span><time datetime="2025-01-04T00:23:08-05:00" title="Saturday, January 4, 2025 - 00:23">Sat, 01/04/2025 - 00:23</time> </span> <div class="evo-press-release__body"><p><strong>Washington D.C. </strong>– Today, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (MD-06) officially took the oath of office as a member of the 119th Congress, representing Maryland’s 6th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties.</p><p>“Now more than ever, Americans need leaders who are committed to delivering common-sense, common-ground solutions that will make a real difference in people’s lives,” said Congresswoman McClain Delaney. “I am deeply honored to represent Maryland’s 6th District in Congress, and I am ready to get to work on the issues that matter most to our families, communities, and future.”</p><p>April McClain Delaney was elected to the open seat, succeeding Congressman David Trone, who represented the 6th District since 2019. Before joining Congress, McClain Delaney – a communications attorney by trade – served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), where she led initiatives to improve U.S. competitiveness, expand broadband access, and advise the White House on tech and communications policy.
