Mr. HICKENLOOPER submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 1383, to establish the Veterans Advisory Committee on Equal Access, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. ___. PROHIBITION OF MANDATORY DISPOSAL OF PUBLIC LAND. The Secretary of the Interior or the Secretary of Agriculture may not conduct sales, exchanges, or transfers of public land unless consistent with the public land disposal procedures under applicable Federal law, including-- (1) the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (43 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.); (2) the Act of June 14, 1926 (commonly known as the ``Recreation and Public Purposes Act'') (44 Stat. 741, chapter 578; 43 U.S.C. 869 et seq.); and (3) the first section of Public Law 85-569 (16 U.S.C. 478a). ______
