Julia Letlow to ensure retirement security for teachers, police officers, and other public servants has been signed into law. The Social Security Fairness Act would eliminate the unfair, bureaucratic Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), which reduce earned retirement benefits for millions of public servants across the country.</span><br><br><span>WEP and GPO provisions currently prevent over 2 million Americans and many Louisianans from retiring with their full Social Security benefits.</span><br><span> </span><br><span>“Our state and local employees work tirelessly to educate our students, respond to emergencies, protect public safety and more.
