Since taking office in January, I’ve engaged with state and community officials to identify projects that will make the biggest difference and support those who need it most,” said Rep. McClain Delaney. “My priority in Congress is to ensure our constituents have the tools and resources to thrive, and these community-focused investments will help foster growth and strengthen Maryland’s 6th Congressional District.”

The following projects were submitted and approved by the House Committee on Appropriations for inclusion in the FY 2026 federal funding package.

Allegany County

$2,808,220 for the Frostburg State University Planetarium

$1,315,000 for the Town of Lonaconing New Georges Creek Waterline

$900,000 for the Potomac Fire Company No. 2 Engine Replacement

$2,000,000 for the City of Cumberland Membrane Filtration Building

“The generous support from Congresswoman McClain Delaney for revitalizing the planetarium at Frostburg State University represents a transformative investment in STEM education and community enrichment in Western Maryland. The existing plant is reaching the end of its useful life and is incapable of addressing emerging contaminants. With the support of the City's Federal partners, this grant will allow the City to begin design work on a new Water Filtration Building that will utilize state-of-the-art membrane filtration, which is capable of removing disinfection byproducts as well as emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
