<span>Congressman Keith Self Opposes Warrantless Searches</span> <span><span>Patrick.Herrer…</span></span> <span><time datetime="2024-04-12T13:49:02-04:00" title="Friday, April 12, 2024 - 13:49">Fri, 04/12/2024 - 13:49</time> </span> <div class="evo-press-release__body"><p>Today, Congressman Keith Self and 87 House Republicans voted against renewing FISA, which includes the Section 702 authority, through the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act.</p> <p>“It is unconscionable that FISA was renewed today without a warrant requirement,” said Congressman Keith Self. “The Constitution clearly states Americans have the right under the 4th Amendment to be secure against unreasonable search and seizure. This bill sacrifices our constitutional rights in the name of ‘safety.’”</p> <p>The executive branch has politicized FISA and weaponized federal intelligence agencies to target Americans. The FBI alone has violated the 4th Amendment with over 278,000 improper searches and over 3.4 million warrantless searches into Americans' private communications.</p> <p>“We cannot rationalize away the U.S. Constitution.
