Ms. MURKOWSKI submitted an amendment intended to be proposed [[Page S1628]] to amendment SA 4732 proposed by Mr. Husted to the amendment SA 4420 proposed by Mr. Thune (for Mr. Schmitt) to the bill S. 1383, to establish the Veterans Advisory Committee on Equal Access, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: On page 7, between lines 20 and 21, insert the following: (d) Acceptance of Affidavit for Tribal Identification.-- Section 303A(a) of the Help America Vote Act of 2002, as added by subsection (a), is amended-- (1) in paragraph (1)(B)(i)-- (A) in subclause (I), by striking ``or'' at the end; (B) in subclause (II), by striking the period and inserting ``; or''; and (C) by adding at the end the following new subclause: ``(III) an affidavit developed and made available to the individual by the State in which the individual attests that the individual is a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe, but does not possess a Tribal identification document with a photograph or an expiration date because the federally recognized Indian Tribe does not issue such identification.''; and (2) in paragraph (2)(A)(i), by inserting the following before the semicolon: ``or an affidavit described in subclause (II) or (III) of paragraph (1)(B)(i)''. ______
