RECOGNIZING TWO MEMBERS OF THE GREENVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Mr. MURPHY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize two outstanding [[Page H2723]] members of the Greenville Police Department: Senior Police Officer Mackenzie Rainone and Detective Brandon Peebles for their service to eastern North Carolina. Officer Rainone, recently named the department's 2025 Officer of the Year, has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to public safety. Over the last year, she made 98 arrests, conducted more than 2,500 traffic stops, and handled 81 crashes, all while serving as lead investigator on serious cases. Just as importantly, she earned the respect of her community through her professionalism, fairness, and dignity. It is especially fitting that we recognize Officer Rainone and the example she sets forth in law enforcement this month as it is Women's History Month. I also rise to Recognize Detective Brandon Peebles as he retires after 24 years of dedicated service. Throughout his career, he played a key role in major investigations, locating missing individuals, and dismantling large-scale drug operations. Detective Peebles' legacy is not only in the cases he solved, but in the community that he made safer, helped build, and the trust he earned along the way. Mr. Speaker, I thank both Officer Rainone and Detective Peebles for their unwavering commitment to protecting the people of Greenville and keeping us safe. ____________________
